David Summerton

Entered the industry in 1985 and joined a leading auction house in Port Elizabeth, where he practiced as an auctioneer primarily selling movables and later immovable property. Was appointed as an "appraiser " in terms of the Administration of Estates Act in 1984 and in 1986 obtained a National Diploma in Property Valuations and in the same year qualified as a Professional Valuer in terms of the South African Council for Property Valuers Profession. Established his own company in 1985 which has expanded to three separate entities specialising in Valuation & Auctioneering Services, Residential Sales and Property Management. Dave is a past Chairman of the local branch of the Institute of Estate Agents, past Chairman of Multi Listing Services, has served on the local executive of the South African Institute of Valuers, is currently a Director of the East Cape Property Guide as well as Harcourts South Africa.

Ivan Edelson

Ivan started his career in property in 1974 with Ralph Hancock Ltd, a Port Elizabeth based property company. Ivan was responsible for the auctioneering side of the of the company and later joined the residential division and commercial and industrial division. In 1985 Ivan started his studies toward the National Diploma in Property Valuation and graduated in 1990. Ivan is a registered Professional Valuer in terms of the Property Valuers Profession Act of 2000, is a member of the South African Institute of Valuers and serves on the local Eastern Cape Branch Executive. Ivan is involved in Valuations for Local Authority, Government Departments and Other parties over a wide range of property.

Robert Edelson

Robert joined Summerton Edelson as a candidate valuer in 2005. In 2007 Robert completed his National Diploma in Real Estate specialising in Property Valuation, attaining 10 distinctions from 13 subjects. In 2008 he was registered with the South African Council for the Property Valuers Profession as a Professional Valuer. Robert also holds a BSc degree from the University of Stellenbosch and is a member of the South African Institute of Valuers. He is currently studying towards a Masters (MSc) degree in the Built Environment with specialisation in Property Economics and Valuation. Robert’s hobbies include reading, golf, music and gym training, while he serves as secretary of Round Table No 8.
