Relocated to Randburg, Gauteng and started primary school at Unika Primary School (Afrikaans medium) and matriculated at Randburg High School (Afrikaans medium). I started my working career in the advertising department of an Afrikaans Newspaper, the Beeld. Got itchy feet and together with a friend decided that it was a good time to explore and travel through Europe. Came back and took up position as trainee Shipping Administrator with a very large German company, L&G Steinmuller GmbH, whom imported and constructed 600 Mega Watt Boiler units and contracted to Escom. I was Head of the Shipping Department and was in their employ for 10 years. I got married and became mother to sons Daniel and Jack and decided to be a stay-at-home-Mom. In 1994, I relocated to the coastal town of Port Alfred in the Eastern Cape. My husband, John travels to London for business on a regular basis. My eldest son matriculated and left home in 2006. I felt the time was right to take on a new challenge and stared my career in Real Estate with Homenet Port Alfred, now Harcourts Port Alfred. I have passed my Estate agents board exam (CEA) and more recently acquired professional status as and Estate Agent by completing my SETA Services Accreditation in Real Estate.

Originally from the Western Cape, I was educated and matriculated at Notre Dame Convent in Constantia and after an interesting short span with the Standard Bank which gave me a good insight into financial fields, I qualified at Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town, as a Diagnostic Radiographer- a caring, practical, useful profession- and worked in South Africa, Namibia and Zimbabwe. I married in 1972 and together with my husband, and with the 2 sons and a daughter who were born to us, ran a 120 bed Guest and Game farm in the Karoo/Eastern Cape at Tarkastad, for 18 years- A busy and stimulating life dealing with people from South Africa and Overseas and farming sheep, cattle, game and keeping many sports facilities such as tennis courts, bowling green and mashee golf course in good nick for the use of the guests. After moving to the Coast and buying property in Port Alfred, I started a new career as an Estate Agent which has been very interesting and fullfilling and now have 20 years experience. The rewards have been wonderful, meeting many interesting people, being financially successful, and being able to have a home at the coast for family and friends to visit. Surfing or just swimming in the sea, Fishing, Skiing and Boating in the river, playing Golf, Bowls, Angling, Gardening and having a social life keeps one very busy along this delightful Coast. Port Alfred has so much to offer, Schools, Hospital, Shopping Complexes and Churches, and Sports Clubs- golf, bowls and tennis, and the Ski Boat Club and NSRI are well supported. I started off in the rental department and progressed into the selling department where I worked for over 10 years. I am now involved in the customer care and am loving still dealing with property and people. I love Port Alfred and have lived here for 25 years. Living in the Heart of the Sunshine Coast has given me the opportunity to raise 2 sons in a small town environment, giving them the best upbringing possible. My husband John has his own printing business, Dells Printers, which he started when we arrived in "The Kowie" when it was still a small little village where everyone knew everyone else. I have also been involved in the travel industry as a tour guide with Springbok Atlas Safaris, so I had the opportunity to travel South Africa and surrounding countries. Bitten by the travel bug I traveled extensively through Europe, Scandanavia and Great Britain. Went onto traveling to South America and sailing through the Carrabean up the East coast of America where I then traveled in Canada and America. I saw the birth of the Royal Alfred Marina and extension onto Forest Downs and the Riverside of Port Alfred - watched our little hamlet expand to a town.

Farm Sales ConsultantBorn and raised on a farm in Bedford in the Eastern Cape and a direct descendant of 1820 Settler Families, farming and the Eastern Cape have been cornerstones for me all my life. I was educated at St Andrews College in Grahamstown and studied further at Natal university Durban obtaining a Bachelor of Social Science degree. After graduating in 1976, I returned to the Eastern Cape where I farmed one of the family farms in Adelaide for 20 years. During this period, I married and had 4 children. With the children's educational needs growing, we moved in Grahamstown and spent 12 years there while the children were educated at Kingswood College. In Grahamstown, I was part of a very successful student accommodation development and this gave me my introduction to real estate. it soon became apparent that there were many people, attracted by the superb schools and university that Grahamstown has to offer, who were keen to look at properties in the area, be they game farms, stock farms or lifestyle properties. Having an intimate knowledge of the area, the people in the area and of farming, it was a natural step to move to farm sales. With the children's education completed in Grahamstown, we moved at the beginning of 2009 to Port Alfred at where we had bought a farm. Here we run a dairy, a growing Boran herd and a flock of indigenous veld goats as well as some game. I have been actively and successfully involved in farm sales over the whole of the Eastern Cape for a number of years and am passionate about the area. The tremendous diversity of habitat, the wonderful views of beach and bush, good rainfall, lack of gross and access to excellent educational facilities and friendly communities makes the Sunshine Coast an incredibly desirable destination.
